Mission Statement:To provide Kentuckiana men, women and children with the most up-to-date health, nutrition and fitness information including advice from credentialed health care professionals offering empowering strategies for improving the health of our community. As a health professional and educator for the past 35 years, Barbara Day’s mission is to provide Kentuckiana with a resource the community can count on for credible health information. Kentuckiana HealthFitness magazine (KHF) was created in July, 1997. Kentuckiana Healthy Woman magazine (KHW) became a reality as a result of numerous readership surveys from Kentuckiana HealthFitness magazine’s readers. The readers spoke loudly and clearly…the women wanted more information about women’s health issues. So, in an effort to meet our readers’ needs and requests, Kentuckiana Healthy Woman magazine (KHW) was conceived in July, 2004. Each issue of KHF focuses on health, nutrition and fitness information for the general population, whereas each issue of KHW focuses on a specific women’s health issue with many of the regular columns being directed toward women. Credentialed health professionals, many of whom have earned M.D.s, Ph.D.s, and masters’ degrees, write all of our advice columns in both KHF and KHW. This format serves to clarify conflicting health information in the marketplace. By using this strategy, we have been very successful in providing Kentuckiana men and women excellent resources on all aspects of their health. The content of KHF and KHW is not just fluff, but real in-depth information on specific health, fitness and nutrition topics that can be used to empower our community to adopt healthier lifestyles for themselves and their families. In an era of escalating medical costs, we’re providing our community with a real service by keeping both KHF and KHW free. That makes our advertisers even more important! Unlike other local publications, we want our magazines to remain an information source first – not just an advertising venue. That’s a huge benefit to you as an advertiser because your message does not compete against as many ads. KHF and KHW are excellent venues to reach Kentuckiana women and men who have a special interest in their health and the health of their families. Our readers come from diverse backgrounds: some are professionals and business owners; some are college students; others are beginning their families and some are veteran grandparents. Because of the excellent editorial content in each magazine, our readers tend to pass on the issues to friends and relatives. We invite you to be a part of this important community mission!
